Connecting to a database

Managed databases start private. To connect from your own servers or a desktop client:

  1. Open the database → Overview → Public access → Make public. The database restarts once.
  2. Press Reveal credentials to see the public host, port, user, password and a ready-made connection URL.

mysql -h <host> -P <port> -u app -p app
redis-cli -h <host> -p <port> -a <password>

Anyone with the password can connect while public access is on, so keep it secret and turn public access off when you don't need it. The port stays the same if you turn it on again.
